Church teachings on Combating RacismIn order to combat discrimination towards different ethnicities in the workplace environment, we need to reach out to members of the community and inform them of the immense impact of racism not only on an individual, but also to a community who bear the same ethnicity, and in turn the flourishing effects worldwide.
In light of Pope John Paul II, the only way to sincerely combat racism is by ‘respecting the transcendent dignity of man’. Subsequently, the Pope further insinuates how to combat racism by stating ‘it is the Church’s role to remind men of good will and the rights of all human beings and to distinguish them from unwarranted or false claims’. By turning to God and regularly attending mass, individuals in society will be able to overcome any racial prejudices and live up to the statements by Pope John Paul II, as the Lord our God will always guide us towards the light and turn us away from the temptations that cause sin. |
We must sincerely convert to a life of holiness and implement strategies with other Christian’s to conquer the tyrant of racism and attain cohesion among all.
